A US survey question paired AI supplement recommendations with professional review. For brands, the useful discussion concerns sources, checks and responsibility.
CRN’s release of 7 October 2026 reports that 45% of US adults would be comfortable with personalized AI supplement recommendations if reviewed by a doctor, pharmacist or registered dietitian.
This industry-commissioned US attitude survey did not test an AI system’s accuracy. It is neither a measure of Hong Kong attitudes nor evidence of supplement efficacy or safety.
The following workflow suggestions are editorial implications, not findings tested by the survey. Organize product names, versions, ingredients per serving, labels and review dates so that source information can be checked.
A fluent summary can omit a unit or limitation. Retain original document links and name the responsible reviewer. Generated wording should not become an approved product statement simply because it reads confidently.

Define the scope of general product information and how to refer questions involving medicines, illness, pregnancy or individual health circumstances. A tool should not infer a person’s requirements or substitute for professional assessment.
For internal trials, use examples without sensitive personal information. Check whether answers identify unknowns, preserve sources and return out-of-scope questions to staff. Evaluate the actual answers, alongside interface convenience.
Assign responsibility for checking sources, labels, versions and market applicability, and record corrections and approvals. Product changes also need a way to update reference material so that an old formula is not silently reused.
These are process ideas for discussion, not solutions validated by this survey. News can frame useful questions; adoption of a particular tool still requires assessment of its actual purpose, data handling and professional responsibilities.
