Ingredient selection is only the beginning. Consider chewable texture, sachet preparation, packaging and quality records when developing a Bonepep® product.

Begin with the daily use situation

For a chewable, define when it is taken, who assists and how the label will explain use. For a sachet, specify whether it is consumed directly or prepared with a particular drink rather than assuming all formats are equally convenient.

Audience age, eating ability and caregiver routines belong in the brief. They influence unit shape, packaging and directions, and provide practical criteria for prototype evaluation.

Evaluate more than flavour

Compare hardness, breakdown, powderiness, sweetness and aftertaste using a consistent prototype scorecard. A first impression alone is a weak basis for a production specification.

Different powders can affect processing and sensory performance. Ask the OEM team to explain trade-offs, then retain approved samples and version records so the agreed standard is concrete.

Give sachets and packaging their own tests

Evaluate dispersion, settling, clumping and residue under the intended preparation conditions. Use the actual finished formula rather than extrapolating from one ingredient’s properties.

Assess bottles, individual packs or other options against storage and portability needs. Barrier performance, seals and the after-opening situation should be discussed during development.

Keep the documentation connected

A product master file can connect specified ingredients, supplied batches, formula versions, packaging and inspection requirements. This helps procurement, development and production share one reference.

Confirm complete allergen information for egg-derived materials and the corresponding label. Supplier documents, finished-product tests and trademark requirements serve different functions and should be coordinated before launch.
